Product Manager

We are looking for a Product Manager for Chery International who will work closely with the Product team for Multiple Brands to ensure the daily effectiveness of the overall Product department. The candidate will thus, be a key member of the Product team in ensuring that key outputs are delivered effectively and efficiently. This role will cover all of Chery international brands (Chery, OMODA & JAECOO). Multiple brand function will be a shared role with the team - as and when a specific brand needs a resource the candidate will be expected to support. Thus, this position will not only focus on one brand, where there is work required, the candidate will be expected to conduct the responsibilities assigned by the Product HOD or Product Director. To succeed in this role, the candidate will be responsible for obtaining insights into market and customer trends, and to prepare and analyse customer research data, amongst several other job responsibilities. Ultimately, the candidate will ensure that their area of responsibility meets and exceeds the expectations of our business objectives and contributes to the company’s success in the long run.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Gather insights about market trends, customers, competitors, to prepare for Product rollout and model management (Product Life Cycle).
  • Prepare and analyse customer research data, in efforts to create Customer profiles and insights.
  • Product Life Cycle Management (Owner of the Product Roadmap & Product Performance Monitoring + Configuration, Volume Mix and Price Proposal)
  • Support ALL departments to improve Sales.
  • Launch rollout Support (PR content checking, website specification sheet, dealer bulletin, product launch & POS Material).
  • Preparation of dealer and Sale support tools.
  • Price and competitor monitoring & recommendation.
  • Draw and Prepare data in a graphical or tabular format.

Experience and Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Business related Tertiary Qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Business related Tertiary qualification is advantageous.
  • 5 years’ experience in a Product Manager related role is non-negotiable.
  • 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry is essential.

Skills:

  • Advance Excel & PowerPoint Skills required.
  • Analytical mind set essential.
  • Data gather will be done by desktop, Survey data or Software / Web based Systems (Jato, Lightstone etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Be able to work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail.
